What time does the May Fayre start?
On Saturday, the FAMILY DISCO (beginning with kid-friendly at midday and moving to adults around 7pm) begins at midday. The bar will be open and food available.
On Sunday the May Fayre begins at 10am and closes at 4pm.
Do I need to buy a ticket?
No, entry to the Saturday and Sunday events are completely free. However you will still need to pay to use the bar, food, tuck shop etc.

Where has Friday night kids disco gone?
For a variety of reasons, we’ve decided to trial the kids disco which in recent years took place on the Friday night – on Saturday.
We’re opening the event much earlier (midday) so you can come with the kids and spend some time enjoying the space. The bar will also be open and food available if that sways you at all.
I've not got tickets for Saturday night!
Similar to above, we’re trying something different this year and there is no need to buy tickets for any part of this years May Fayre. Saturday evening will be an adult disco event, but don’t worry we aren’t turfing kids out at 7pm.
It just means there will be more Taylor and less Baby Shark.
Is there disabled parking?
Yes. Disabled parking is on the hard standing next to the Hatch field.
I’m volunteering, where do I go and when?
If you are volunteering this weekend we really need you on site 15 minutes before your shift starts for a briefing.
Look for anyone in a hi-viz or head to the Burghfield Residents Association (BRA) tent by the arena.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome over the May Fayre weekend, but we ask that all dogs are kept on a lead while on the Hatch.
What food is available at the event?
On Saturday, Crumpy’s Smoke Shack is providing the food and the kids tuck shop will be open.

Will there be a funfair?
No, there is no funfair at the event at all this year.
Is there a bus running?
The event is served by Reading Buses Lime 2 and 2a service.
Coming from Mortimer and Burghfield Common, the best stops to use are ‘Clayhill Road Turn’ (Lime 2) and ‘Hatch Gate’ (Lime 2/2a).

Is there parking at the site?
There is no parking directly around the Hatch site for Burghfield May Fayre attendees apart from disabled parking (see above).
Parking IS available for FREE at The Guide Dogs campus off the Reading Road – you can then walk or catch the Lime 2a to the May Fayre site.

Please be considerate of our neighbours and business when attending the Burghfield May Fayre. Failure to do so causes issues with putting on future May Fayres.
Can I bring the kids?
Yes. In fact it is encouraged. There’s plenty going on, on Saturday for the kids and the same on Sunday with a few entertainment surprises.
Do you have card facilities?
The bar and food vendors are card only. The tuck shop will take cash and card and it will be down to the individual stall holders on Sunday as to what they are able to take in terms of payment.
What is the event for?
The Burghfield May Fayre raises funds for Burghfield Residents Association which in turn distributes that money to local charities and causes.
